Captain Dennis J. Turner, a native of Overland Park, KS, is currently serving as Director of Logistics (J4) at USSTRATCOM in Omaha, NE. He has previously served as; Commanding Officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Expeditionary Support Unit ONE in Coronado, CA; Director of Maritime Support at Weapons Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, PA; Expeditionary Officer, Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command (CNSWC), Coronado, CA; Fuel's Officer, Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) San Diego; Stock Control Officer, Naval Special Warfare Group (NSWG) TWO, Logistics Support and Unit (LOGSU), Little Creek, VA; Supply Officer, SEAL Team FOUR, Little Creek, VA; and Supply Officer, Commander, Destroyer Squadron (COMDESRON) FIFTEEN, Yokosuka, Japan. His sea tours include duties as Disbursing/Sales/Supply Officer on USS REID (FFG-30). He also served as Stock Control Officer on USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). Additionally, he served as the Forward Logistics Element (FLE) for Naval Special Warfare in Balad, Iraq, directly supporting SEAL operations on the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula (CJSOTF-AP) staff.
Captain Turner holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, where he was commissioned in the Navy through the ROTC program. He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Petroleum Management from the University of Kansas, during which time he also attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS earning JPME Phase One.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four gold stars), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other awards. He is designated as a Naval Expeditionary Supply Corps Officer (NESCO), Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer (SWSCO) and a Naval Aviation Supply Officer (NASO). He is currently married to the former Alison Strickland, from Richmond, VA.
