USSTRATCOM Welcomes students, alumni from University of Nebraska Executive MBA Program

U.S. Strategic Command Public Affairs

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. − University of Nebraska Omaha’s (UNO) Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program participants, alumni and leaders visited U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Headquarters, June 3, as part of the command’s ongoing effort to build, support and sustain partnerships with private sector organizations and academia.

“This is an important way we can build relationships with our community and UNO,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Lloyd Buzzell, USSTRATCOM global watch division chief. “Our mission at USSTRATCOM demands we build leadership and executive-level thinking, and that is exactly what this program is designed to do.”

While here, Bill Swanson, the program director; Melanie Krings, the program assistant director; and Leah Meyer, UNO Office of Military and Veteran Services director; as well as several alumni, toured USSTRATCOM’s global operations center and the E-6B Airborne Command Post (ABNCP) aircraft, and received a command mission briefing from U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard J. Evans III, mobilization assistant to the USSTRATCOM deputy commander. After the briefing, Evans and members of the group participated in discussions on strategic deterrence, cyber responsibility and collaborative research efforts.

Swanson said he was “very impressed by the quality of personnel we have in the military who protect this great country in which we live.”

Founded in 1975, UNO's EMBA program is the 13th oldest in the U.S., and the only one in Nebraska, according to UNO’s website.
