Major General John Uberti

Major General John Uberti is the Chief of Staff, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.

He is the principal advisor to the commander and deputy commander, United States Strategic Command, and directs the activities of the command staff by developing and implementing policies and procedures in support of the command's missions. He chairs numerous boards, oversees the command corporate process, and serves as director of the commander's staff.

MG Uberti is originally from Merrick, NY, and was commissioned in the Field Artillery in 1983 upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy.

He has served in a variety of command and staff positions from Battery through Headquarters, Department of the Army level. His operational assignments include tours with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), 82d Airborne Division, 2d Infantry Division, Republic of Korea, 2-325th Infantry (Airborne Battalion Combat Team), Battery D, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 18th Field Artillery Brigade (Airborne), the Joint Special Operations Command, and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command (IJC).

During Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM, MG Uberti commanded Battery B, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment. He served in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as the Director of Plans (C/J5), International Security Assistance Force Joint Command (IJC), and subsequently as the Deputy Commander, Regional Command East.

MG Uberti also served as Commanding General, Installation Management Command, Korea Region. From August 2011 to June 2013, he served as the Deputy Commanding General-Support/Chief of Staff, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He began serving as Chief of Staff, USSTRATCOM, in July 2013.
