Command Chief Master Sergeant
Chief Master Sergeant Thomas S. Narofsky is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
In this capacity, he is the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander, USSTRATCOM, responsible for the global command and control of U.S. strategic forces to meet decisive national security objectives.
USSTRATCOM provides a broad range of strategic capabilities and options for the President and Secretary of Defense. Command mission areas include full-spectrum global strike, space operations, computer network operations, Department of Defense information operations, strategic warning, integrated missile defense, and global C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), combating weapons of mass destruction, and specialized expertise to the joint warfighter.
Chief Narofsky grew up in Tucson, AZ and entered the Air Force in September 1983. His background includes various duties in computer operations, network operations, communications security, information assurance, as a MAJCOM Functional Manager and command chief master sergeant at wing, deployed wing, and numbered air force. His assignments include bases in Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and Nevada.
The chief also served overseas in the United Kingdom and Germany, and deployed to Southwest Asia in support of operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Chief Narofsky has been awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (five awards), Air Force Commendation Medal (two awards), Air Force Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
