Strategic space symposium features commanders media availability

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – "Advancing Space Capabilities and Strengthening Operations to Promote Global Security" is the theme for the Nov. 2 – 4, 2009 Strategic Space Symposium co-sponsored by United States Strategic Command and the Space Foundation, at the Omaha Qwest Center, in Omaha.

The event offers space and defense professionals an opportunity for education, interactive discussion, and exposure to the latest space operations technologies. The symposium focuses on warfighter issues/requirements and global space strategy.

Gen. Kevin P. Chilton, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, will give remarks on “USSTRATCOM Command Perspective” on Nov. 3, and then be available for a media roundtable with Lt. Gen. Larry James, commander of Joint Functional Component Command for Space, later that morning.
