Colonel Bradley W. Phillips

Colonel Phillips enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1988 as a rifleman.  His assignments included: sea duty on the USS Long Beach (CGN-9); 1st Battalion, 2d Marines; and Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry, Camp Lejeune.

 

In 1996, 2ndLt Phillips graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  Upon graduation from The Basic School and Air Support Control Officers School he was assigned to Marine Air Support Squadron 1, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing. 

 

Capt Phillips then went to U.S. Space Command, Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center (CMOC), Colorado Springs in 2001 where he was the CMOC Exercise Branch Chief and a Missile Warning Center Commander.  During this tour he graduated from the U.S. Army Space Operations Officer Qualification Course.  

 

In 2004, he transferred to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 28, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.  His duties included Tactical Air Command Center (TACC) Officer In Charge (OIC), Assistant Operations Officer, and Remain Behind Element OIC.  Capt Phillips graduated from the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course in 2006.  He deployed with the TACC as a Senior Air Coordinator in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in 2005 and 2007.

 

Maj Phillips, after graduating from Marine Corps Command and Staff College, assumed the duties as Executive Officer and Battalion Officer, Naval Academy Preparatory School, Naval Station Newport in 2008.  He reported to 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing in 2011 and served as the Executive Officer.  Maj Phillips deployed to the U.S. Central Command, Combined Air and Space Operations Center in 2012 as the Deputy Marine Liaison Officer.  In 2014, he completed his tour at 3d Marine Aircraft Wing as the Wing Air Control Officer. 

 

From 2014 to 2015 LtCol Phillips was the Operations Officer, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.  From June 2015 to June 2017 LtCol Phillips was the Commanding Officer, Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 28.  LtCol Phillips graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 2018.  LtCol Phillips served at the National Airborne Operations Center as an Emergency Actions Officer and Command Center Operations Chief from July 2018 to September 2019.

 

Prior to assuming his current duties, Col Phillips was a Battle Watch Commander in the U.S. Strategic Command, Global Operations Center.

 

Col Phillips has Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Military Studies, and Strategic Studies.
