First Hawaii deployment proves B-2 strategic flexibility to ensure free, open Indo-Pacific

The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) returns to its homeport at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga., following the completion of sea trails. Rhode Island recently completed a 33-month Engineered Refueling Overhaul, which will extend the life of the submarine for another 20 years. The boat is one of five ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base and is capable of carrying up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.

USS Rhode Island Returns from Sea Trials

KINGS BAY, Ga. — USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) returned to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga., Sept. 12, after successfully completing their first at-sea period in two-and-a-half years.

Ohio-native celebrates family, friends, and service during promotion ceremony
