Barksdale B-52s Participate in U.S. Central Command Exercise Eager Lion

Two B-52 Stratofortress bombers assigned to the 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale AFB, La., returned May 18, 2015, from a 30-plus hour, 14,000 mile nonstop mission to the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of operations (AOR) to participate alongside Jordanian and other multinational forces in Exercise Eager Lion 2015.

Lt. Col. Michael P. Anderson was one of only a handful of African-American astronauts and was one of the seven crewmembers aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia when it exploded on re-entry just 16 minutes before its scheduled touchdown Feb. 1, 2003. His accomplishments were numerous, and he showed that nothing should get in the way of a person's goals, including their race.

Navy MUSE team helps power USSTRATCOM

When a broken water main flooded the boiler room of the U.S. Strategic Command headquarters building here on Dec. 20, it caused quite a few electrical, cooling, heating and potable water issues for the 50-plus-year-old facility.
