Global Strike Airmen strengthen strategic readiness during Global Thunder 26
MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. — Global Thunder 26 (GT26), the latest iteration of U.S. Strategic Command’s annual field training and command and control exercise, concluded Oct. 26 here. While Exercise GT26 occurred at multiple locations, Minot AFB supported activities amongst two bomb wings and a missile wing accounting for two thirds of the U.S. nuclear triad.

GT 254: AFGSC validates reliability, readiness of ICBM force with Minuteman III test launch
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. — AFGSC conducted a test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III ICBM from Vandenberg SFB, Calif., on Nov. 5, 2025. This test, designated GT 254, evaluated the ongoing reliability, operational readiness & accuracy of the ICBM system, a cornerstone of America's national defense.

U.S. Strategic Command opens exercise Global Thunder 26
OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — U.S. Strategic Command opened its annual nuclear command and control exercise, Global Thunder 26, here Oct. 21, 2025. Global Thunder 26 engages warfighters across the nuclear enterprise, including USSTRATCOM components and subordinate units. Its purpose is to support peace through strength and national security objectives by enhancing combat readiness, assuring worldwide allies and partners, and demonstrating the Command’s warfighting capacity and lethal capabilities. This is an annual exercise, not held in response to world events or actions by any nation or entity.

307th Bomb Wing Arrives in UK for Cobra Warrior 2025 Exercise
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. — U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress aircraft assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, arrived at Royal Air Force Fairford, England, on Sept. 11, 2025, to participate in Cobra Warrior 2025 (CW 25-2).

U.S., Norway test maritime strike in High North
Eglin Air Force Base, FL — The USAF partnered with Norwegian Allies to test next-generation precision maritime strike capabilities on Sept. 3rd in the Norwegian Sea. In partnership with Royal Norwegian Air Force F-35s and personnel, the USAF's 53rd Wing integrated a US B-2 Spirit stealth bomber into a long-range strike scenario employing the AFRL’s QUICKSINK maritime weapon, demonstrating seamless cooperation and interoperability to defeat a surface vessel in a realistic setting.
