23rd Expeditionary Bomber Squadron brings Bomber Support to Diamond Shield 2019

ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE BASE DARWIN, Australia -- U.S. Airmen assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, participated in Diamond Shield 2019 at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, Australia, March 18, 2019.More than 80 Airmen and two B-52 Stratofortresses assigned to the 23rd Expeditionary Bomber Squadron

Pappy Dodd (pictured), U.S. Strategic Command red team conveyancer, and volunteers from the Happy Hill Community in Plattsmouth, Neb., built a primitive access road on March 15, 2019, in the wake of local flooding. The road was constructed so that residents could travel in and out of the community while the access roads were flooded.

Milstar program reaches 25 year milestone

SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Milstar formerly known as the Military Strategic and Tactical Relay, launched February 7, 1994, has reached twenty-five years’ of service.

U.S. Air Force Gen. John Hyten, commander of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), meets U.S. Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), at USSTRATCOM headquarters, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Jan. 30, 2019. During his visit, O’Shaughnessy toured the command’s global operations center, battle deck and new command and control facility. He also participated in discussions with Hyten and other senior leaders on the continuing collaboration between USSTRATCOM, NORAD and USNORTHCOM. USSTRATCOM has global responsibilities assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, space operations, joint electromagnetic spectrum operations, global strike, missile defense, and analysis and targeting.
