USSTRATCOM Detects, Tracks North Korean Submarine Missile Launch

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) systems detected and tracked what we assess was a North Korean submarine missile launch from the Sea of Japan at 4:29 a.m. CDT.

During the event, Wilson and other senior leaders from the command joined University of Nebraska senior leaders and faculty in recognizing the Fellows for completing the 13-week program. While at UNO, the Fellows learned mission-oriented skills from national security and defense experts from the University of Nebraska in a classroom-based, hands-on environment. This year marked the first time that all four University of Nebraska campuses [UNO, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Kearney] were involved in the program. The Strategic Leadership Fellows Program was launched in March 2014 as an initiative under the University of Nebraska's National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI), one of only 13 Department of Defense-sponsored University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) in the nation. USSTRATCOM Strategic Leadership Fellows Graduate

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Ten U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) employees completed the USSTRATCOM Strategic Leadership Fellows Program as part of a University of Nebraska program to enhance the management skills and technical expertise of civilians as they progress to strategic supervisory roles.

A U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., flies over the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial in Marnes-la-Coquette, France, April 20, 2016, during a ceremony honoring the 268 Americans who joined the French air force before the U.S. officially entered World War I. USSTRATCOM Detects, Tracks North Korean Missile Launch

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. − U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) systems detected and tracked what we assess was a failed North Korean missile launch at 3:33 p.m. CDT.

The MOU to share space situational awareness (SSA) services and information, signed during the 32nd Space Symposium, will enhance awareness within the space domain and increase the safety of spaceflight operations for the U.S. and UAE. The UAE joins 10 nations, two intergovernmental organizations, the European Space Agency and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, and more than 50 commercial satellite owner/operator/launchers already participating in SSA data-sharing agreements with USSTRATCOM. SSA data-sharing agreements enhance multinational space cooperation and streamline the process for USSTRATCOM partners to request specific information gathered by USSTRATCOM’s Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. USSTRATCOM, UAE sign agreement to share space services, data

Colorado Springs, Colo. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) entered into an agreement with the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA) to share space situational awareness (SSA) services and information today at the 32nd Space Symposium.

B-52 conducts long-range training with Colombia

B-2s conduct deployment to Indo-Asia-Pacific

Three B-2 Spirits deployed from Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, to the U.S. Pacific Command area of operations March 8.

U.S. Strategic Command, Other Experts Discuss Deterrence at UNO

U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander, former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, and other defense and academic experts promoted cooperation, collaboration and innovation, March 3, during the two-day 2016 Deterrence and Assurance Workshop and Conference at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) College of Public Affairs and Community Service.

U.S. and Japan Strengthen Space Collaboration through Dialogues

JAPAN - U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Clinton E. Crosier, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) director of plans and policy, participated in Department of State (DoS) /Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) space security dialogues during a recent visit to Japan, which led to commitments on further space security partnering initiatives. He also met wish Japan Ministry of Defense (MOD) leaders and delivered the keynote speech on space security at the Japan International Space Symposium.
