B-52s complete joint, combined missions in Indo-Asia-Pacific

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — Three U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortresses returned to Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, Dec. 21, 2016, after executing 15 sorties near Australia and in the South China Sea in conjunction with forces from U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. European Command and Australia in support of U.S. Strategic Command’s bomber assurance and deterrence

U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Robert B. Neller, Marine Corps commandant, visited U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, Dec. 14, for a command orientation and discussions with U.S. Air Force Gen. John E. Hyten, USSTRATCOM commander, and other senior leaders. While here, Neller toured the USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center and received capabilities and integration briefings on nuclear command, control and communication, space, electronic warfare, and cyber. Neller also held an All Hands Call with Marines assigned to USSTRATCOM headquarters. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions, assigned through the Unified Command Plan, which include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.

Commandant of the Marine Corps visits USSTRATCOM

U.S. Strategic Command welcomes Hyten as new commander

Exercise Global Thunder 17 Concludes

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – Exercise Global Thunder 17, an annual command post and field training exercise, concluded Oct. 31.

UK and Canadian collaboration highlighted during Global Thunder 17

U.S. Strategic Command's Exercise Global Thunder set to begin

10/21/2016 — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) headquarters staff, components and task forces will participate in exercise Global Thunder, which starts Oct. 24.

Houston Navy Week Kicks Off In the Lone Star State

ROK CJCS Visits USSTRATCOM, Discusses Extended Deterrence

10/12/2016 — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – Republic of Korea (ROK) Army Gen. Lee Sun-Jin, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, visited U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander, and other USSTRATCOM senior leaders Oct 11-12 here, to discuss the overall importance of the U.S. and ROK partnership.

USS Tennessee arrives in Scotland for port visit

10/7/2016 — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Nebraska – This morning the ballistic missile submarine USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) arrived at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde, Faslane, Scotland, for a regularly scheduled port visit.

Senior leaders from six of the nation's 10 Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and three of the 14 University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC) meet with Adm. Cecil D. Haney (center), U.S. Strategic Command commander, during their visit to USSTRATCOM headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Sept. 29, 2016. While here, leaders participated in roundtable discussions on projects and capabilities of their respective organizations. They also received briefings on USSTRATCOM challenges in the 21st century and toured the command's Global Operations Center.
