A Canadian CF-18 fighter jet intercepts a B-52 Stratofortress from the 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., over the Atlantic in support of POLAR ROAR, Aug. 1, 2016. The B-52 flew non-stop from the U.S. to the Baltic Sea and back to conduct the intercept training with NORAD-assigned Canadian fighter aircraft and NATO allies. In total, three B-52s and two B-2 Spirit bombers from all three of the U.S.’s strategic bomber bases (Barksdale AFB, La.; Minot AFB, N.D.; and Whiteman AFB, Mo.) participated in POLAR ROAR, which also included flights to the Arctic and Alaska's Aleutian Islands. Strategic Bomber Force Showcases Allied Interoperability During POLAR ROAR

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Five bombers from all three of the United States' strategic bomber bases completed a mission yesterday designed to test the force's long-range, global-strike capability while training and integrating with key allies and partners.

International experts discuss security and stability at 2016 USSTRATCOM Deterrence Symposium

LA VISTA, Neb. - More than 650 deterrence practitioners from Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, industry, academic institutions and international organizations attended U.S. Strategic Command's (USSTRATCOM) 2016 Deterrence Symposium, July 27-28, for panels and speeches designed to promote increased collaboration and discussion on global deterrence issues.

USSTRATCOM kicks off 2016 Deterrence Symposium

LA VISTA, Neb. − More than 650 deterrence experts gathered at the La Vista Conference Center as U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) kicked off the seventh annual Deterrence Symposium, July. 27.

Gen. David L. Goldfein, chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force, provides remarks during the promotion ceremony of U.S. Air Force Gen. Stephen W. Goldfein, who presided over the ceremony, said that Wilson had the competence and character required to be promoted to the rank of general and hold the position of 39th vice chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force. Wilson, a command pilot with more than 4,500 flying hours and 680 combat hours, has been at USSTRATCOM since July 2015. He previously served as the Air Force Global Strike Command commander. Nimble Titan strengthens future multinational missile defense cooperation

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senior leaders from the ministries of foreign affairs and ministries of defense from 18 nations and multinational organizations convened for a senior leader seminar at the Department of State, 23-24 June, to discuss policy and military operational concepts for multinational missile defense.

B-52s set to deploy to Europe

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Three B-52 Stratofortresses are scheduled to deploy June 2 from Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, to RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, to participate in U.S. European Command’s Exercises Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 16 and Saber Strike 16, and U.S. Africa Command’s Just Hammer.
