USSTRATCOM, Allies and Partners Conclude Global Lightning 16

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), in coordination with other services, appropriate U.S. government agencies and international allies, concluded Exercise GLOBAL LIGHTNING 16, April 28.

While at UNO, the Fellows learned mission-oriented skills from national security and defense experts from the University of Nebraska in a classroom-based, hands-on environment. This year marked the first time that all four University of Nebraska campuses [UNO, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Kearney] were involved in the program. The Strategic Leadership Fellows Program was launched in March 2014 as an initiative under the University of Nebraska's National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI), one of only 13 Department of Defense-sponsored University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) in the nation. U.S. Strategic Command to Conduct Exercise Global Lightning

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command will conduct GLOBAL LIGHTNING 2016, a command and control exercise, with components and tasks forces beginning April 23.

B-52 integrates, trains with French allies

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - A B-52 Stratofortress from Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, conducted a long-range training sortie to train and integrate with the French Air Force.

The MOU to share space situational awareness (SSA) services and information, signed during the 32nd Space Symposium, will enhance awareness within the space domain and increase the safety of spaceflight operations for the U.S. and UAE. The UAE joins 10 nations, two intergovernmental organizations, the European Space Agency and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, and more than 50 commercial satellite owner/operator/launchers already participating in SSA data-sharing agreements with USSTRATCOM. SSA data-sharing agreements enhance multinational space cooperation and streamline the process for USSTRATCOM partners to request specific information gathered by USSTRATCOM’s Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. USSTRATCOM, UAE sign agreement to share space services, data

Colorado Springs, Colo. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) entered into an agreement with the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA) to share space situational awareness (SSA) services and information today at the 32nd Space Symposium.

B-52 conducts long-range training with Colombia

USSTRATCOM, Canada's Upper Midwest Consul General Discuss Partnership

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) senior leaders hosted Mr. Jamshed Merchant, Consul General for Canada in the upper Midwest, at USSTRATCOM Headquarters, March 16, as part the command’s ongoing effort to build, sustain and support partnerships with ally nations.

A trident II D-5 ballistic missile is launched from the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737) during a missile test at the Pacific Test Range, Nov. 7, 2015. The launch, the 156th successful test flight of an unarmed Trident II D5 missile, was part of a Demonstration and Shakedown Operation (DASO) in the Pacific Test Range to validate the readiness and effectiveness of an SSBN's crew and weapon system. Strategic weapons tests, along with exercises and operations, demonstrate the readiness of the nation's nuclear triad, assuring America's allies and deterring potential adversaries. Successful Trident II D5 Missile Test Another Demonstration of Triad Readiness

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - The successful launches of three Trident II (D5) missiles last week as part of a Follow-on Commander's Evaluation Test (FCET) continue to validate the credibility of the nuclear enterprise. FCET-52, the 160th successful launch since 1989, follows two Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) "Glory Trip" launches in February, and one Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) nuclear Weapon System Evaluation Program (NucWSEP) test.
