341st Missile Wing wins back-to-back Omaha Trophy award

Gen. Kevin Chilton, USSTRATCOM commander, and Mr. Gary Gates, representing the Strategic Command Consultation Committee, presented the Omaha Trophy to the 341st Missile Wing commander, Col. Michael Fortney, and the men and women of Malmstrom Air Force Base Aug. 26 at the base auditorium.

With a salute and the words, "Sir, I accept command," Maj. Gen. Floyd L. Carpenter took command of the Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike from Lt. Gen. Robert J. Elder, at 10:30 a.m., in a change of command ceremony here today.

Two U.S. Strategic Command marathoners participated in the Boston Marathon on April 20, along with 22,898 runners in the 113th annual event, which is the oldest consecutive sporting event in the country.
