During his visit, Griggs participated in bilateral discussions with Hyten and other USSTRATCOM leaders and subject matter experts on a variety of topics of mutual interest for Australia and the United States. Engagements like this are part of the long-standing partnership between the two allies to promote regional and global stability. One of nine Department of Defense unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global responsibilities assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, space operations, joint electromagnetic spectrum operations, global strike, missile defense, and analysis and targeting.
