USSTRATCOM senior enlisted leader retires

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – U.S. Strategic Command will conduct a retirement ceremony for Master Chief William N. Nissen on June 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Master Chief Nissen serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander, USSTRATCOM, responsible for the global command and control of U.S. strategic forces to meet decisive national security objectives. He has held this position since April 2004.

He enlisted in the Navy in August 1974 and has had extensive leadership experience. Master Chief Nissen served at sea as Chief of the Boat and Command Master Chief aboard USS HAWKBILL (SSN 666), Commander Submarine Group FIVE, USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), and USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72). His shore duty Command Master Chief assignments include U. S. Naval Submarine Base, San Diego, Calif. ; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, San Diego, Calif. ; and the United States Naval Academy.

The incoming USSTRATCOM senior enlisted leader is Chief Master Sergeant Thomas S. Narofsky, currently Command Chief of the 14th Air Force, Vandenberg Air Force Base and USSTRATCOM Joint Functional Component Command Space. -30-
