Gen. Kevin P. Chilton, commander, U.S. Strategic Command, and Mr. Jack Baker, member of Strategic Command Consultation Committee, presented the Omaha Trophy for Best Strategic Aircraft category to Strategic Communications Wing One at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. today. "Assured nuclear command and control from the President of the United States to fielded forces whether they be missile silos, submarines or bomber aircraft - the mission you do is fundamental to the deterrence posture of the United States of America," said Gen. Chilton in his opening remarks. Capt. Dwight D. Shepherd, commander of Strat Wing One, accepted the trophy on behalf the Wing's nearly 1,400 active-duty Sailors, contractors and DoD civilians.
