WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. (March 10, 2014) Members of the 509th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and Munitions Squadron explain the specifics of a MHU-204 portable control unit to Adm. Cecil D. Haney, Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) during Haney's visit to Whiteman Air Force Base. Haney asked the Airmen about their concerns and ideas for improving working and living conditions and stressed the importance of their contributions to our nation's nuclear deterrence mission. The 509th Bomb Wing supports USSTRATCOM's strategic deterrence mission by operating and maintaining B-2 Spirit bombers to deter strategic threats from adversaries and assure our allies of our commitment to their security.
