JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas. (May 5, 2014) Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Adm. Cecil D. Haney meets members of the Joint Electronic Warfare Center and discusses the center's mission and capabilities. The JEWC assesses electronic warfare requirements, technology, and capabilities while  conducting modeling, analysis, and electromagnetic spectrum activity coordination between Combatant Commands and other U.S. government agencies. Additionally, the center deploys electronic warfare experts, trains staffs, stands up forward planning cells and delivers rapid warfighter support when required. Responsibility for joint electronic warfare Freedom of maneuver in the electromagnetic spectrum is critical to conducting operations in and across all domains and joint functions. Responsibility for electromagnetic spectrum operations is assigned to US Strategic Command by the President of the United States through the Unified Command Plan.
