OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. (Nov. 7, 2014) Col. Rick Ostermeyer, Chief, Operations Plans Division and AFRICOM/EUCOM Regional/Adversary Team Lead at U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), cuts the cake during the USSTRATCOM 239th Marine Corps Birthday ceremony, Nov. 7 at the Patriot Club. Marine Corps Forces Strategic Command (MARFORSTRAT) hosted the celebration in advance of the USMC birthday on Nov. 10. MARFORSTRAT is the service component commander to USSTRATCOM and advises Commander, USSTRATCOM on Marine Corps capabilities and interests. Additionally, MARFORSTRAT advises and assists other Marine Corps commands and supporting establishments in the development of concepts, education, training, doctrine, and capabilities in USSTRATCOM's assigned mission areas. MARFORSTRAT also advocates for capabilities to ensure coherent cross-mission situational awareness and integration between the Marine Corps and USSTRATCOM.
