U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney (left), U.S. Strategic Command commander; receives a walking tour of the waterfront facilities at Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (commonly referred to as "Faslane") from Royal Navy Commodore Mark Adams ADC (center), naval base commander (Clyde); and Royal Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Vice Chief of the Defense Staff; during his trip to Glasgow, Scotland. Haney visited Faslane to meet with United Kingdom Ministry of Defence officials, tour its facilities and visit one of the Royal Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine platforms. The trip was part of his ongoing effort to build enduring relationships with partner organizations to confront the broad range of global strategic challenges. The U.S. and U.K. maintain their close relationship by working together to support regional and global security objectives with highly trained, interoperable strategic forces.
