U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney (right), U.S. Strategic Command commander, welcomes the Honorable Frank A. Rose, Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance, to Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., April 14, 2015. During the visit, Rose and Haney discussed issues of interest to both organizations, participated in roundtable discussions and reinforced the continuing cooperation between the Department of State and USSTRATCOM. The meeting supported Haney's ongoing effort to build and maintain enduring relationships with partner organizations within the government, as well as those from the private sector, academia and allied nations. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
