Haney traveled to the Asia-Pacific region to continue building and maintaining enduring relationships with partner nations and other combatant commands. During his visit to Japan, he met with senior leaders for a variety of bilateral discussions on topics of mutual interest. The trip supports USSTRATCOM's efforts to confront the broad range of global strategic challenges and the United States' rebalance to the Pacific. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
