The aircraft, assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., conducted the flyover as part of a training mission to the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) area of responsibility, which was closely coordinated with the Colombian Ministry of National Defense. "The aircraft's participation in this airshow and the training conducted alongside our Colombian partners allow our strategic aircrews to maintain a high state of readiness and crew proficiency," said Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
