Members of the U.S. Strategic Command's Joint Color Guard fold the American flag during a retreat ceremony at the Offutt Air Force Base parade field, Aug. 13, 2015. The ceremony is held to signal the end of the duty day and pay respect to the American flag as well as honor the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and civilians whose service ensures the security of the nation. USSTRATCOM annually performs the detail to build camaraderie and fellowship by continuing the long-standing tradition. It is an event that also honors retired service members, veterans and family members who are invited to attend the ceremony. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
