Left to right: Air Force Gen. Robin Rand, Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) commander, Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney, U.S. Strategic Command commander (USSTRATCOM), Air Force Gen. John E. Hyten, Air Force Space Command commander (AFSPC), and Navy Adm. Michael S. Rogers, U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) commander and National Security Agency (NSA) director, pose for a photo prior to attending the USSTRATCOM component and nuclear commanders conference at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Oct. 1, 2015. USSTRATCOM and its various component commands and task forces operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to execute the command's global strategic missions, as directed through the Unified Command Plan. As commander, Adm. Haney works closely with senior leaders from AFGSC, AFSPC, USCYBERCOM and other partner organizations to deter strategic attacks against the nation and its allies. USSTRATCOM, one of nine DoD unified combatant commands, is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
