Armbruster, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands, pose for a photo during Haney's visit to Roi Namur, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Oct. 14, 2015. Haney and members of his staff visited the island of Roi Namur as part of his trip to USAG-KA. Roi Namur is located approximately 50 miles north of Kwajalein Atoll and houses the Kiernan Reentry Measurements System (KREMS), a research and development radar site that collects data for intercontinental ballistic missile testing. While visiting the Marshall Islands, Haney received overview briefs on USAG-KA's command structure and the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site. He also had lunch with military members and civilians assigned to U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command units at USAG-KA that support USSTRATCOM's strategic deterrence and integrated missile defense missions. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM's global strategic missions, assigned through the Unified Command Plan, also include space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
