The B-52 is a long-range, heavy bomber capable of flying a variety of missions and has an unrefueled combat range in excess of 8,800 miles. Bomber crews routinely deploy to maintain a high state of readiness and crew proficiency while integrating capabilities with key regional partners. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions, assigned through the Unified Command Plan, which include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
