The USSTRATCOM leaders also received briefings on UNL’s Extreme Laser Light Laboratory, Executive Education-Clifton Strengths Institute, Nuclear Proliferation Simulation and Wargaming Center concept, and tours of the Holland Computing Center; Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior; Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab; and the Nebraska Innovation Campus. They also held discussions on collaboration and engagement opportunities between USSTRATCOM and the University of Nebraska. USSTRATCOM hosted 21 senior leaders from the University of Nebraska at Offutt Air Force Base in January 2016. These engagements are part of USSTRATCOM’s ongoing effort to build and maintain enduring relationships with partner organizations from the private sector, academia and allied nations. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions, assigned through the Unified Command Plan, which include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
