U.S. Air Force Gen. John E. As Secretary of Energy, Moniz was tasked with implementing the president’s energy strategy and maintaining the nation’s nuclear deterrent. In addition to his work with NTI – a non-profit organization focused on preventing catastrophic nuclear, cyber, biological, radiological and chemical attacks – Nunn serves as a distinguished professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech University and as chairman emeritus of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and analysis and targeting.
