OMAHA, Neb. - U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard Evans III, director of Reserve forces and mobilization assistant to the commander of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), delivers remarks after receiving the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award during a recognition luncheon at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) College of Business Administration (CBA) in Omaha, Neb., May 11, 2017. Evans, a 1984 graduate, was one of three UNO CBA alumni recognized during the event for their career and community achievements. The other award recipients were retired U.S. Air Force Col. Elizabeth Durham-Ruiz, executive director and deputy chief information officer for command, control, communications and cyber at U.S. Transportation Command; and Gustavo Oberto, managing director of global sales and markets at Conductix-Wampfler AG. One of nine Department of Defense unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence, space operations, cyberspace operations, joint electronic warfare, global strike, missile defense, intelligence, and analysis and targeting.
