During his visit, O’Shaughnessy toured the command’s global operations center, battle deck and new command and control facility. He also participated in discussions with Hyten and other senior leaders on the continuing collaboration between USSTRATCOM, NORAD and USNORTHCOM. USSTRATCOM has global responsibilities assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, space operations, joint electromagnetic spectrum operations, global strike, missile defense, and analysis and targeting.
