OMAHA, Neb. - The audience listens to a panel discussion on “How Does Economic Entanglement Affect Competition and Deterrence?” at the 2019 United States Strategic Command Deterrence Symposium at La Vista Conference Center in La Vista, Neb., July 31, 2019. The military and industry panel participants include; Dr. Hilton Root, Professor, George Mason Schar School of Policy & Government, George Mason University; Dr. Jonathan Ward, Atlas Organization; Dr. Thomas Oatley, Professor & Corasaniti–Zondorak Chair in International Relations, Tulane University; Dr. Benn Steil, Senior Fellow and Director International Economics, Council on Foreign Relations; and Ms. Linda Specht, Political Advisor, U.S. Strategic Command. This annual symposium draws academic, government, military and international experts with the goal of creating a forum to explore a broad range of deterrence issues and thinking.
