AMES, Iowa - U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Richard Correll, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) director of plans and policy, kicks off the fifth annual Deterrence and Assurance Academic Alliance Conference at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, March 11, 2020. Over 100 participants attended the two-day event, themed Deterrence: Theory to Application, A Cyclone of Challenges. The event featured student panel presentations, tours and demonstrations, a national security job fair, and a four-hour USSTRATCOM-led tabletop exercise, which simulated a strategic level national security crisis to test their analytic expertise.
