Montgomery, AL - Enlisted Airmen of Air Education and Training Command induct Gen. Anthony J. Cotton, Commander, U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command and Commander, Air Forces Strategic-Air, U.S. Strategic Command, into the AETC Order of the Sword in a ceremony Apr. 1, 2022. Cotton was the Air University Commander and President February 2018-October 2019. The Order of the Sword is the highest honor and tribute that noncommissioned officers can bestow upon an individual and is patterned after two orders of chivalry founded during the Middle Ages in Europe, The Royal Order of the Sword and the Swedish Military Order of the Sword.
