VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. - Naval Aviators assigned to the U.S. Navy's Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR (VQ-4), operate an E-6B Mercury during takeoff for an Operational Test Launch out of Vandenberg Space Force Base, April 18, 2023. The E-6B is a dual-mission aircraft capable of fulfilling either the TACAMO mission or the airborne strategic command post mission and is equipped with an airborne launch control system.
