An unarmed Trident II D5LE missile launches from the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Louisiana (SSBN 743), marking a successful Demonstration and Shakedown Operation-32 (DASO-32) off the coast of Southern California, Wednesday.

USS Louisiana Proves Readiness of Unmatched Strategic Weapons System

The U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs conducted a scheduled, missile test flight of an unarmed life-extended Trident II (D5LE) missile from USS Louisiana (SSBN-743), an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, on the Western Test Range off the coast of San Diego, California, at approximately 2:10 p.m. yesterday. This test marks 191 successful missile launches of the Trident II (D5 & D5LE) strategic weapon system (SWS) missile since it began operations in 1989. Trident II missile remains unmatched in its reliability.

28th LRS vehicle maintenance flight “winterizes” Ellsworth through the Summer Rebuild Program

As the summer months dwindle and winter months quickly approach, the 28th Logistics Readiness Squadron has begun gearing up their vehicle maintenance flight by implementing the annual Summer Rebuild Program (SRP).

Three B-2s are on their last mission before returning to their home station. The BTF provides aircrews the ability to forward posture strategic bombers within the European theater, enabling integration with NATO Allies and partners to advance the ability for the allies to operate as a single, cohesive force.

AFGSC conducts 13N FAST Field Tests

AFGSC members from the Studies, Assessments, Analysis and Lessons Learned Directorate and the Data Analytics Collaboration Cell executed their first field test of the 13N Force Assessment Scheduling Tool, or FAST, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, Aug. 15-17. Operators and support personnel from the 90th Operations Group collaborated with programmers and analysts from AFGSC Headquarters to ensure the program met rigorous standards for operational needs.
