An operational test launch of an Air Force Global Strike Command unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was conducted today, April 19, 2023, at 5:11 a.m. Pacific Time, from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The missile used in GT-246 launched in the early hours of the morning with a launch command delivered from the Air Launch Control System on a Navy E-6 TACAMO, which stands for “take charge and move out.”

This test launch is part of routine and periodic activities intended to demonstrate that the United States’ nuclear deterrent is safe, secure, reliable and effective to deter twenty-first century threats and reassure our allies. Planned Minuteman III test launches validate reliability of ICBM force

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. — Members of Air Force Global Strike Command’s missile community regularly participate in intercontinental ballistic missile operational test launches, called Glory Trips, to validate the safety, security and reliability of the Minuteman III ICBM force. Submarine Group 7 Hosts Trilateral Theater Anti-Submarine Warfare Tabletop Exercise and Working Group in Yokosuka

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Commander, Submarine Group 7 hosted their counterparts from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and Royal Australian Armed Forces personnel from the Australian Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) for a trilateral theater anti-submarine warfare (TASW) tabletop exercise and working group at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Feb.

The 891st Missile Security Forces Squadron was awarded the 2022 Security Forces Squadron Outstanding Large Unit Award at the Major Command level for the first time in the unit’s history, and will go on to compete for the award at the Air Force level. The award recognizes the importance of the mission the 891st MSFS supports and the lengths the Airmen assigned to the unit went in order to ensure that mission was accomplished.
