7th BW rolls out first BEAST-modified B-1B

The 7th Bomb Wing’s first B-1 Embracing Agile Scheduling Team modified B-1B Lancer took its first flight September 8, 2023, from Dyess AFB marking a new era of lethality for the venerable aircraft. BEAST was designed to shorten fielding of each system, preserve aircraft availability and ensure compliance with federal government aviation directives.

AFGSC conducts 13N FAST Field Tests

AFGSC members from the Studies, Assessments, Analysis and Lessons Learned Directorate and the Data Analytics Collaboration Cell executed their first field test of the 13N Force Assessment Scheduling Tool, or FAST, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, Aug. 15-17. Operators and support personnel from the 90th Operations Group collaborated with programmers and analysts from AFGSC Headquarters to ensure the program met rigorous standards for operational needs.

5AMXS competes in 2023 Global Strike Challenge

The 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron competed in the Global Strike Challenge here, Aug. 2-4. The Global Strike Challenge is an annual competition between units in Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Combat Command, Air Force Reserve Command, and the Air National Guard consisting of several events assessing innovative thinking, teamwork, and competencies central to the AFGSC mission.

Barons return home following Bomber Task Force deployment

The 23rd Bomb Squadron’s world-famous “Bomber Barons” returned home from their most recent Bomber Task Force deployment to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, July 24. The contingent, composed of approximately 280 Airmen and four B-52H Stratofortress, logged hundreds of flight hours from dozens of sorties within the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility during the six-week deployment. The BTF also provided an opportunity for the squadron’s aircrews, maintainers and support personnel to integrate with various allies and partners present in the region for unrelated military exercises.
