B-1s train to LRASM capabilities in Europe during Bomber Task Force mission

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — Two B-1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, conducted a long-range strategic Bomber Task Force mission to the Black Sea region, 29 May, 2020. During the mission, the two B-1s conducted training on the Long Range Anti-ship Missile (LRASM). Designed to target adversary ships, the LRASM gives the B-1 the ability to have advanced stand-off and counter-ship capabilities.

Ellsworth B-1s return to European Theater as part of latest BTF mission

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — B-1B Lancers from Ellsworth conducted a second long-range strategic Bomber Task Force mission in the European theater that included key interactions with U.S. assets as well as Danish and Polish forces May 11, 2020.

Combat Raider 19-1 keeps forces ready, lethal

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — Aircrew from all 8th Air Force bases flew over the Powder River Training Complex together for the first time during Combat Raider 19-1 on Oct. 16-18. They coordinated with joint tactical air controllers from the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, who helped coordinate simulated air strikes from the ground.
