DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas - Members of the U.S. Air Force hold a ceremony to recognize the arrival of the first B-1B Lancer at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, June 29, 1985. This June marks the 40th anniversary of the first B-1 to arrive at Dyess AFB. The B-1 was developed as a supersonic nuclear bomber to replace the B-52 Stratofortress after the Cold War.
