2019 BTF comes to an end

RAF FAIRFORD, England — More than 450 personnel and six B-52 Stratofortresses from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, returned home following a short-term deployment to RAF Fairford, England, in support of U.S. Strategic Command’s Bomber Task Force in Europe, April 11, 2019.

U.S. presents Bells of Balangiga to the Philippines

F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. (AFNS) — Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis and Philippine Ambassador to the U.S. Jose Romualdez visited F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Nov. 14, during which the Bells of Balangiga were officially presented to the Philippine government.

Combat Raider 19-1 keeps forces ready, lethal

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — Aircrew from all 8th Air Force bases flew over the Powder River Training Complex together for the first time during Combat Raider 19-1 on Oct. 16-18. They coordinated with joint tactical air controllers from the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, who helped coordinate simulated air strikes from the ground.

Passing the guidon: Gen Ray takes command of AFGSC

Gen. Timothy Ray took command of Air Force Global Strike Command from Gen. Robin Rand, outgoing AFGSC commander, during a ceremony here, Aug. 21. He is the newest leader of the U.S. Air Force’s portion of the nuclear enterprise, which maintains the nation's only force of Minuteman III ICBMs and strategic bombers.
