Strengthening our nuclear deterrence: Part 1

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. — There’s a lot to think about when it comes to nuclear deterrence. Most people think about the vast number of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles we have secured in silos around the country. Other’s may think about the various options we have in our bomber and submarine delivery systems. However, at Vandenberg, the 377th Test and Evaluation Group plays an important role in nuclear deterrence by continually testing our ICBM capabilities for all the world to see.

BTF 24-2 bombers return home after Global Guardian

U.S. bombers arrive in Sweden for Bomber Task Force 24-2

LULEA, Sweden — Two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancers assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, arrived in Luleå-Kallax Air Base, Sweden, for Bomber Task Force 24-2, Feb. 23, 2024. During the deployment, the bomber crews and support personnel will integrate with the Swedish Armed Forces, NATO Allies and other international partners to synchronize capabilities and assure security commitments across the U.S. European Command area of responsibility.

Bombers abound: North Dakota-based B-52s arrive in Pacific, provide strategic deterrence

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — B-52 Stratofortress bombers assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing from Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, landed at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam at the end of January as part of a Bomber Task Force to support strategic deterrence missions aimed at reinforcing the rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific region.
