Air Force Battle Lab accelerates battle management for PACAF, ABMS CFT and ACC

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. — The 805th Combat Training Squadron, also known as the Shadow Operations Center – Nellis, hosted its second annual ShOC Flag event at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Dec. 5-9. The event’s primary purpose was to analyze decision-making in a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command scenario to gather insights into operational and tactical command and control processes.

U.S. Strategic Command JEMSO Leaders Host Technical Interchange Meeting

Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. — Members of U.S. Strategic Command's Advanced Warfare Capabilities Division (J81) for Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) hosted a Technical Interchange Meeting on Jan, 10-11, bringing together more than 40 M&S specialists from government, academia, and business to chart a course for the future of EMS campaign modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Minuteman III test launch showcases readiness of U.S. nuclear force's safe, effective deterrent

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. — A team of Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen launched an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with a test reentry vehicle at 11:01 p.m. Pacific Time Feb. 9 from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This test launch is part of routine and periodic activities intended to demonstrate that the United States’ nuclear deterrent is safe, secure, reliable and effective to deter twenty-first century threats and reassure our allies. Such tests have occurred over 300 times before, and this test is not the result of current world events.

Whiteman-based National Guard unit gets new commander for Guard’s only B-2 wing

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. — The National Guard’s only nuclear flying wing welcomed its new commander during a ceremony at Whiteman Air Force Base, Feb. 3, 2023.

Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) fires a standard missile during a live-fire exercise in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 23. Shiloh is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
