U.S. Strategic Command welcomes Hyten as new commander

UK and Canadian collaboration highlighted during Global Thunder 17

USSTRATCOM Detects Attempted North Korean Missile Launch

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) systems detected what we assess was a failed North Korean missile launch at 5:00 p.m. CDT, October 19, 2016, near the northwestern city of Kusong.

10/15/2016 — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) systems detected what we assess was a failed North Korean missile launch at 10:33 p.m. CDT, October 14, 2016, near the northwestern city of Kusŏng.

Senior leaders from six of the nation's 10 Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and three of the 14 University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC) meet with Adm. Cecil D. Haney (center), U.S. Strategic Command commander, during their visit to USSTRATCOM headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Sept. 29, 2016. USSTRATCOM hosts first roundtable discussion with FFRDCs and UARCs

10/6/2016 — OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – Adm. Cecil D. Haney, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander, and representatives from the command hosted senior leaders from Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC) for roundtable discussions at the command’s headquarters, Sept. 29.

USSTRATCOM hosts space exercise with international partners

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) led the third Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Tabletop Exercise (TTX) / GLOBAL SENTINEL 16 (GS-16), Sept. 21-30, at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation in Suffolk, Virginia. The event provided an opportunity to develop and implement processes for partners from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and commercial entities to collaborate on combined SSA operations.

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. − A U.S. Navy E6-B Mercury visited Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, Sept. 19-21, 2016. The visit allowed members of Team Minot to tour the inside of the Airborne Command Post (ABNCP) and learn about how it supports U.S. Strategic Command’s mission.
