1980s: Hill AFB’s role as the Logistics System Program Manager for all Air Force ICBMs

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — As Hill AFB entered its fifth decade in 1980, the Ogden Air Logistics Center remained the Logistics System Program Manager for the Air Force’s entire Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) deterrent force. The ICBM weapon systems then managed by the Ogden ALC included the LGM-25 Titan II, LGM-30 Minuteman II and III, LGM-118A Peacekeeper, and XMGX-134A Small ICBM.

B-52s deploy to Alaska, demonstrate global agility

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress bombers returned to the Indo-Pacific region June 14 to conduct bomber task force operations out of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.

B-1s train to LRASM capabilities in Europe during Bomber Task Force mission

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — Two B-1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, conducted a long-range strategic Bomber Task Force mission to the Black Sea region, 29 May, 2020. During the mission, the two B-1s conducted training on the Long Range Anti-ship Missile (LRASM). Designed to target adversary ships, the LRASM gives the B-1 the ability to have advanced stand-off and counter-ship capabilities.

USNORTHCOM Leads Large-Scale, Multi-Combatant Command Homeland Defense Exercise with Truman Carrier Strike Group

ATLANTIC OCEAN — U.S. Northern Command is leading a major homeland defense exercise conducted in partnership with North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Transportation Command, U.S. Strategic Command, and U.S. Space Command, with the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) under the operational control of U.S. Northern Command.
