Milstar program reaches 25 year milestone

SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Milstar formerly known as the Military Strategic and Tactical Relay, launched February 7, 1994, has reached twenty-five years’ of service.

Students on the Knob Noster High School robotics team designed a protective panel that covers four switches in the cockpit of the $2.2 billion B-2 Stealth Bomber. Each panel costs $1.25 to produce. A four-switch panel called the airframe mounted accessory drive, or AMAD, sits on the left side of the B-2’s two-person cockpit. USSTRATCOM kicks off 2019 Strategic Leadership Fellows Program

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — Ten U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) civilian employees are participating in the 2019 USSTRATCOM Strategic Leadership Fellows Program, a 13-week graduate level professional development course, held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). The program’s kickoff event took place at UNO’s Mammel Hall, Jan. 17, 2019.

CPOs honor Cavite bombing survivor, hero

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — Pearl Harbor wasn’t the only location to feel the wrath of Japanese aircraft in early December of 1941 – Cavite Navy Yard, Philippines, was all but destroyed. Many died and many more were injured. One survivor, Navy veteran Chief Petty Officer Leonard Kulceski, watched the ship next to his own go down while he and the other members of his ship worked together to pull other Sailors out of the water.

Henson visited the DPAA Laboratory to collect the remains of his grand uncle-in-law, U.S. Army Cpl. Albert Mills, who was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division during the Korean War. Henson served as the special escort for Mills’ remains during transport to final resting place in Dallas.
